Getting Help

Cluster support is available during regular business hours Monday through Friday 8am to 6pm. Evening and weekend support is available on a best-effort basis. Users needing assistance should submit a Help Request on the web or send email to scs@lbl.gov

Submit a Help Request

Gateway Login

To get to the clusters you must first authenticate into a secure gateway system that utilizes one time passwords via ssh and secure card access. This ensures that only authorized logins can reach the clusters.

  1. Login to scs-gw via ssh using your username and password
  2. At the SafeWord login screen enter the [seed]-[card serial] (the seed is a string that we gave you, and the card serial number is located on the back of the card itself)
  3. Enter the 4 digit PIN (that we gave you) into the secure card (memorize it!). This will activate the card.
  4. The SafeWord login screen will prompt you with a challenge string. Enter these 4 digits into your secure card.
  5. The secure ID will then show the responce to the challenge. Enter this response into the SafeWord login screen (6 characters)
