Overview

The Mariah Linux cluster is an 24 processor system It features a Myricom Myrinet low latency, high bandwidth interconnect suitable for parallel applications.

Service Level

The production Mariah Linux Cluster is managed by the CIS UNIX Group under a Service Level Agreement as part of the Scientific Cluster Support program.

New User Accounts

User accounts on these systems should be requested or approved by the listed primary contact.

System Maintenance

  1. Scheduled Work
    Systems administration work can be performed after scheduling in advance with the Primary contact. Call the LBNL Fire Deparment to turn off the Halon file suppression system in the 50B-1275 Computer Room before proceeding if the work requires the removal of floor tiles.

Security

Unix Group Standard configuration recommendations. Users are required to use a SecureID card for login access.

System Backups

Backups of home directories are not done at this time.
